This one is a doozy. I bought this at GenCon 2015 to give myself variety to the other pieces I bought and so far, this has been the easiest to learn how to use. Aside from reminding myself constantly not to stab people as I didn’t get one with a stabbing tip, it’s fairly easy to wade into combat and come out the victor. After hours of combat, this Great Sword has been durable and faithful. I would recommend this to anyone that can handle a large weapon.

Thaumstein is correct. This thing is a doozy. I went all out and ordered it with the stabby tip, weighted handle, and even sprung for a hilt. I went with the Roman one, and while I am extremely satisfied with the rest of this sword the Roman hilt was incredibly disappointing. There’s a two inch gap between the blade and the hilt. If you get a hilt, go for one of the other ones instead of the Roman one.

My disappointment in the hilt aside, this is a very fun weapon. You need some strength, and I’d highly recommend the weighted handle. It’s held up under a couple of battles so far, and didn’t seem at all damaged when I fought with it in the rain.

This is an excellent product. With a weighted handle and a straight hilt the balance is superb and it feels like I can confidently hold and swing it. The two main features I’d like to mention are the power and the handle length. With just how powerful it is, it can be a benefit and a detriment. The benefit is that you can easily knock aside your opponent’s weapons when overwhelming them with your swings. The issue lies in when you actually do strike an opponent, it can be quite painful. I’ve been clocked in the jaw by this thing and you feel it well after. The other feature to bring up is the handle. While the 20 inch handle worked great for me as it aligned nicely with my shoulders, it may be too much for people whose arms are shorter than mine. This is definitely something to consider if you are shorter or have a smaller frame. If so, try the normal Great Sword. All things considered it is my favorite sparring weapon that I own and receives compliments wherever I bring it.
